An investigation into the symbolism of the Platonic Solids based on the insights of Professor Keith Critchlow
We will be using published and unpublished material from Keith Critchlow’s original studio collection, with an exploration of their application in architecture and design, referencing Keith’s built and unbuilt projects.
These amazing and fundamental geometric and creation forms were known in the Neolithic period, showing sophisticated geometry was already in use in the construction of stone ‘circles’.
The geometry and ratios deriving from these platonic and archimedean forms underpin all great architecture, design, crafts and decoration.
We will be designing, constructing and adorning our own Geometric models from paper using and referencing source material from Keith Critchlow’s studio contents in South West London.
