Sonic Geometry Taster Workshop & Talk with Professor Julian Henriques

Johannes Keppler: Harmonices Mundi, 1619

Join Professor Julian Henriques in an exploration of Sonic Geometry in this taster workshop to celebrate the life and legacy of Professor Keith Critchlow - who inspired Julian throughout his life and work.

Participants will experience the geometrical relationships of proportion, symmetry and number through sound rather than image, that is, touch rather than sight.

Sonic Geometry is vibrational. It involves feeling rather than only viewing: embodied thinking rather than abstractions.

With some exercises, a demonstration, sounds and images, this talk is an introduction to learning to think through sound - becoming attuned to our multisensory universe and experiencing ‘sonic geometry’ with sound during this taster workshop and session.

About Julian Henriques
